Here's a few display boards we have made ... |
A birthday board. We only had children with birthdays from January to June and then a few children born in October and December, hence, there are 8 yellow stars representing these months with each child's name being written in a star for their month of birth. The background is blue chart paper with silver sticker stars stuck onto it. Small pre-cut metallic stars have been pinned on also. The moon I designed myself by cutting the moon shape, spraying it silver and sprinkling glitter on it. The large birthday stars also have glitter sprinkled on them. The letters for Happy Birthday have been cut from metallic red and gold paper. |

Another birthday board. This board was made when we had about 60 children in three different groups. We made bees to represent the twelve months. Our three groups of children were Blue, Green and Red so we gave each child a flower according to the group they were in eg a child in Red was given a red flower. This made figuring out which child from which group was having a birthday much easier! |
Another birthday board we made had a sea theme. We put blue crepe paper up as the background and I photocopied dolphins onto coloured paper to represent the 12 months. I gave each child a starfish with their name on which were colour coordinated as for the garden board above. At that time we had Blue, Green, Yellow and Red groups so the starfish were those colours. Unfortunately I dont have a pic of it but it looked very effective. |
Here's a board we made when we were doing the Farm topic. The children chose an animal to decorate - pig, horse, cow, sheep or bird and then we put it all together |

This is an "I Spy" bulletin board. This was created at the beginning of the school year in our main hallway. The "I Spy" books are really popular in our school so one of our parents (who is also a very dedicated board member) came up with this idea which was then put together by our upper elementary students and staff. Basically, they found lots of interesting things around the school and then placed them up on the board. They then made a sheet with things to "spy" which helped prompt games of "I Spy" at the board. Thanks to Candace, Yuriko and Upper Elementary at MMS! |
